Cocktail bar Super Lyan opens at Kimpton de Witt
Great news for cocktail lovers. London's famous Super Lyan is moving to Amsterdam. On April 18, the iconic bar will open on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal in the Kimpton de Witt hotel in the spot formerly occupied by House Bar.
Super Lyan is owned by Ryan Chetiyawardan, the best bartender in the world in 2015. To intimates Mr. Lyan. In 2013, Mr. Lyan caused a stir by opening a bar that used no ice and fruit in its cocktails. Super Lyan thus gained legendary status and the cocktail menu was copied worldwide. In addition to Super Lyan, the mixologist owns Dandelyan.
Thomas Datema, one of Amsterdam's finest cocktail shakers, will be in charge of Super Lyan. Datema is known for such things as Hiding in Plain Sight and as co-founder of Rosalie's Menagerie.
Interior
Ryan Chetiyawardana is working with designer Jacu Strauss, creative director of Lore Studio. Strauss previously worked on the restyling of the Pulitzer Hotel. The interior features pronounced shapes and playful candy-colored elements that respond to the optimistic 1950s. Playful, contrasting and carefully layered on the original and historic interior.
Opening hours
In Super Lyan you can visit from early morning until late at night. Starting in the afternoon, they serve food and the most amazing cocktails in the bar and garden.
